Default Shipping CAR from Miami to France

Hello everyone.

I would like to ask for your insight as far as shipping a car overseas. I have seen there are a ton of shippers out there but it also seems to be the wild wild west. My car is worth $40K+ and I cannot afford to have any damage done to it. I am only considering container shipment at this point. I have four questions for you:

1. Can you recommend a RELIABLE and CARE-TAKING shipper in the Miami area? Again, I do not care about how fast/slow shipment will be. I just need it to be done without damage.
2. Should I prefer Exclusive container shipment rather than a 40' container?
3. Can you confirm that it is common policy among shipment companies to allow putting household goods inside the car whenever containerized shipment is offered?
4. Is it safe to drop the car at the docks on the 14th and leave the US on the 17th, or should I drop the car much further in advance?

I really appreciate your help. Thank you all!

Thumbs up Re: Car shipment to France

Hello Gumball13

Re: Car shipment to France

1. I am sure you can check on the companies listed on this site for a good company I would also recommend to check out the reviews in the BBB site for better info about the company to choose, a specially in FL there are not reliable companies around there.
2. For a container if you have only a car to ship then yes. Is will keep your car much safer then any other option. If you have more then a car and some personal effects with you then you should get an estimate for shipping P/E with Auto. But a 1x20’ will sure do the job to secure your car to destination.
3. Adding personal effects into the car is prohibited by law, it’s customs regulations that all cars must be empty of goods. All you can have is a spare tire, jack, car seat, and 2 gallons of gasoline.
4. one you book your move with a reliable company who is owned there own warehouses you can drop your car at there facilities and they will brace and secure the car into container. No brokers can provide you the same services as a shipping company that have there own facilities.

If you have any other questions or information requested I’ll be happy to assist

Regards, JMNY

Default shipping cars to france

hi

that questions are repeating each time that customer need to ship his car
let me sum the question and answers.

1) shipping in consolidation is cheaper and most cars are shipped that way. yes it have a chance to scratch but cost much less than exclusive container

2) when shipping car in consolidation - you can not insert anything in the car including suitcases, boxes and other private things.

3) exclusive container cost more and you can add more things to your own container how ever - you must unload the car at the port in any case. even when you select door to door service.

4) most car will feet in to 20' container [beside limousines]

5) most companies will provide a free storage for certain amount of time.

6) ) insurance cost is between 2% to 2.5% of the value. strong advice - please purchase the insurance and click here to view why.
good luck

Dan
