Default moving to another state - new york

moving to another state - new York

I will be moving to nyc this coming summer from California and I do have couple of question regarding packing, storage and transit time.

packing - what will the cost for packing 2 bedroom house including kitchen master bedroom and nursery room? do I need to prepare something a hear of time before the moving company come?

storage - I will need something from the house right away and something I will need after 3 months how can I arrange the house for the movers.

transit time: how much time it takes to deliver my household coast to coast?

thank you

Nicolas

Default moving to new york (nyc) - moving and packing tips

hi Nicolas

interstate moving is no picnic

I would like to letting you know that in this forum we are not discussing prices how ever we can provide you with quality information that will help moving to new York

packing tips: my best advise to you is to create garage sell before your move and sell unwanted items, sometimes it's not worth to ship all of your household and it will be cheaper to buy new than to ship. home preparation is a key for a successful move. you should remove all unwanted items before movers arrives. because as soon they will arrive you will not have control: they working very fast and before you know it all your things will be in the truck. please take a moment to read our moving check list.

I would advise you to label with two colors all you items that need to be taken to storage and to your new home; that way the movers will not ask you each time what need to be taken to storage etc. this way you should tell them when they arrive and explain to them about the colors

you can provide from the movers for an estimate or consider self storage

transit time: finding a moving company that have the proper licensees is no easy task, how ever you should check if they have the ICC license. Normally transit time from coast to coast with a company that regular "trips" can take anything between 7 to 21 days

hope that helps

Dan
